Last updated: September 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit anatolishevtsov.com (the “Site”), how it is used, and the choices you have. The Site is a personal blog and professional website run by Anatoli Shevtsov (“I”, “me”).
Information I Collect
Information you give me
- Contact form: when you send a message through the contact page, I receive your name, email address and message.
- Comments: when you leave a comment, the Site stores your name, email address, website (if provided), comment text, IP address and browser user-agent. Comments may be checked by an automated spam-detection service (Akismet).
Information collected automatically
- Analytics: the Site uses Google Analytics 4 and Jetpack Stats to understand how visitors use it (pages viewed, time on page, approximate location, device and browser type, referring site). These services use cookies or similar technologies. IP addresses are processed by these providers under their own policies.
- Server logs: the hosting provider records standard log data such as IP address, date and time, and requested URL, for security and performance.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Site uses:
- Essential cookies needed for the Site to work, such as comment and security cookies.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Jetpack.
- Advertising cookies from Google and its partners, if ads are shown on the Site (see below).
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.
Advertising and Google AdSense
The Site may display ads served by Google AdSense and other third-party ad vendors.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in the EU/UK, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used, through a Google-certified consent message.
How I Use Information
- To reply to messages and comments.
- To understand which content is useful and improve the Site.
- To keep the Site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
- To show advertising that helps cover the cost of running the Site.
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it with third parties except the service providers listed in this policy, or when required by law.
Third-Party Services
The Site uses the following providers, each with its own privacy policy: Google (Analytics, AdSense, Search Console), Automattic (Jetpack, Akismet), the Site’s hosting provider, and embedded content from sites such as LinkedIn or YouTube. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other site directly and may set its own cookies.
Data Retention
Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up. Comments and their metadata are kept while the comment is published. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the analytics provider.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. To make a request, use the contact page. I will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for a professional audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
The Site uses HTTPS and reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
